Introduction To CAD

Course Overview:
This course is a two part introduction to mechanical drawing, an important element in

“STEAM” education. This class can be considered as an art elective. The use of traditional

hand drawing instruments, basic drawing skills and techniques including graphic geometry, orthographic drawing and sketching will be studied. CADD will be introduced after a few

weeks as we continue to explore mechanical drawing. The various professions that use CADD

or technical drawing will be also explored.

Communication:
Students can talk to me during class or after school. I can also be reached by email, landergan.catherine@marbleheadschools.org. Should parents like to speak with or meet with me, I am happy to set up an appointment.

Classroom Expectations:
See "Syllabus" sheet on Google Classroom (student login required). All assignments are listed on this blog should students and parents want to see what will be done all semester.

Textbook:
Assignments are from Engineering Drawing and Graphic Technology – 14th Edition, French, Vierck, Foster. Chapters: Intro-5,
Homework Policy:
Home work must be handed in in a timely fashion.

Quizzes/Test:
There is a final exam at the end of the semester. It is approximately 10% of the quarter's grade.
